Emerging Leaders Learning Journey


  • Virtual, Classroom or Blended Learning: 16 learning hours

The Emerging Leaders Learning Journey is an interactive program designed to help participants transition from individual contributors to effective managers and leaders. This comprehensive journey encompasses 16 learning hours and includes both virtual and blended learning options. Participants engage in a series of modules that focus on key leadership skills, such as Intentional Communication, Building Trust and Connection, Growing and Flexing Influence, and The Art and Arc of Feedback.

The program kicks off with a DiSC® Behavioral Assessment, providing insights into communication preferences and helping attendees understand how to better connect with others. Throughout the journey, participants explore their unique leadership styles, develop strategies to enhance team performance, and learn how to effectively influence and build trust within their teams. The curriculum also emphasizes creating a personal leadership brand and understanding the dynamics of feedback.

Upon successful completion, participants receive a co-branded certificate from Corporate Education Group, along with a CEG Credly digital badge to showcase their achievement​.

Before the Program

DiSC® Behavioral Assessment (30 min)

Session 1: Intentional Communication (4 hours)

Communication is the foundation skillset from which all other interpersonal skills build. In this session, we will use the DiSC® framework to explore how your personality impacts your communication preferences. We’ll investigate the priorities, stressors, and motivators that map to various DiSC styles, giving you insight into how to better communicate and connect with others.

Prework for Session 2

Session 2: Your Leadership Footprint (3 hours)

What is your unique footprint as a leader? In this interactive session we begin with the character strengths and qualities that differentiate you from others, and we use these as a springboard for discovering ways to bring your singular skills to life. After translating your strengths into concrete behaviors, we connect and align these behaviors with your governing values. The session culminates in an activity that integrates what you have learned from others with what sets you apart from everyone else. In creating a personal leadership coat of arms, you’ll gain insight into how to “do who you are” as a leader in a way that inspires and motivates others.

Prework for Session 3

Session 3: Building Trust and Connection (3 hours)

Being a valued team member involves more than just growing your skills and knowledge. Building strong relationships is also a key part of team success. In this session, we’ll explore how to earn—and extend—“smart” trust to contribute to a team culture of psychological safety. You’ll also learn how increasing your emotional intelligence will enhance your credibility as well as your team’s performance.

Session 4: Growing and Flexing Your Influence (3 hours)

In this highly interactive session, we will use a trusted framework to explore a five-step model for influencing others. We will examine the importance of planning, asking, and listening in the end-to-end process of influencing. Working through real-life scenarios in role-plays, you will practice applying these new skills to positively influence others up, down, and across levels of power and authority.

Prework for Session 5

Session 5: The Arc and Art of Feedback (3 hours)

Regardless of one’s role in an organization, giving and receiving feedback is a critical part of growth and development. In this session, we will demystify the process of delivering candid, constructive feedback, while activating key insights from brain science to enhance the process. We’ll explore several frameworks for giving and receiving feedback, building your skills through scenario work and role play. We will also examine the importance of asking powerful questions on both sides of the feedback process. In examining the connection between feedback and performance, you’ll improve your ability to give (and receive) feedback that encourages growth and engagement.
